One of Newark’s most promising commercial corridors is the stretch of Mount Prospect Avenue between Bloomfield Avenue and the Belleville line. It comprises low-, mid- and high-rise residential properties (many with views of NYC), professional and medical offices, along with restaurants and bustling retail spaces.
And a significant portion of Mount Prospect Avenue forms the eastern-most border of Historic Forest Hill, a Newark residential community noted for magnificent, turn-of-the-century mansions. What makes this juxtaposition of old and not-so-old so striking is that you are never too far from Newark’s seriously gorgeous roots. For example, the other night I attended a meeting at the North Ward Center on Mount Prospect Avenue. Following are 5 pictures of amazing woodwork found in the grand old building once owned by the Clark family of Clark Tread Company fame. I hope you enjoy them.
What a place to be a residential and commercial Realtor!
